In-home Newborn Session | Washington DC | Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

I loved working with this family to take some Fresh 48 images and in-home newborn photos. When DC Birth Doulas called me to let me know they had a couple that was willing to model for their website’s stock images, I couldn’t have been more excited. I have good friends with Sarah and her doulas for a long time, and I was looking forward to capturing them in action.

What I didn’t realize was that I was about to meet one of my favorite couples of all time! Chelsea and Drew’s excitement about becoming new parents was very apparent during our Fresh 48 Newborn session. Drew couldn’t have been more proud of Chelsea, and Chelsea couldn’t have been more in love with her new baby and her husband. Capturing those first few moments after birth was priceless!

In-home newborn sessions are always fun, but this was especially fun because I had seen baby just a few days before during their Fresh 48 session, and I could see how much he grew in just that first week! And seeing them at home just two weeks later was double the fun! Chelsea and Drew are enthusiastic, kind, and outgoing…which made for a lot of good conversation and laughter throughout our shoot. (Especially when Baby peed all over Drew’s arm!) The best part? Since Drew is a photographer himself, he knew exactly what I needed….He had prepared the nursery with a neutral wall and big windows to let in the gorgeous midday light.
